What Luma does
Point your phone at a restaurant menu. Luma reads it, and you tap anything you don't recognise. For every dish you get what it actually is in plain language, what's usually in it, what it tastes like, how spicy it really is, roughly how much food arrives, and the allergens and dietary notes worth knowing about.

Something wrong, or an idea for it? Write to us and a person will read it.
We aim to reply within two working days. Telling us the dish name and the restaurant helps a great deal when something looks wrong.
What Luma cannot promise
Recipes and preparation methods vary between restaurants, even for the same dish name. Luma cannot tell you that a dish is safe for an allergy, or that it is definitely halal, kosher or vegan. If you have a serious food allergy, confirm directly with restaurant staff. Nutrition figures are estimated ranges unless the restaurant publishes its own, in which case Luma shows the published figure and links to the source.
Your data
Luma has no accounts and collects no personal information — no name, no email, no contacts, no location. Your menu photo is used once to read the menu and is not stored. Scans and saved dishes live on your own phone, and you can delete all of them at any time from You → Privacy and data inside the app.

Photography
Dish photographs are freely licensed images from Wikimedia Commons, credited to their photographers in the app. They show a typical version of a dish, not the plate your restaurant will bring you.
